Going for a drive in summer into protected shady dry woodland near Ironbank in South Australia, we discovered this amazing orchid in shades of white to dark pink, growing along the side of the road.
Dipodium punctatum grows to a height of about 0.75 metres.
In late Dipodium punctatum were all carrying seedpods – having collected some of these and spreading the seed around the dry heathy area in our frontyard – we later discovered that the seed had germinated and had produced some nice healthy plants.
Dipodium punctatum is a beautiful and amazing orchid.
