Disa Orchids

The beautiful Disa orchids are native to South Africa. Disa grow near waterfalls & moist places with plenty of fresh air.

In cultivation Disa are best grown in sphagnum moss standing in a tray of water. Fertilise Disa with dilute Thrive or similar – never with an organic fertiliser as this will cause the delicate tubers to rot.

Disa is one of the only orchids which flower during the summer months – with brilliant blooms ranging from white, brilliant pinks, vivid reds, creams & gold.

The secret to good Disa cultivation is 90% shade, moisture & plenty of fresh air.
