We have just finished building a new shade house and repotting area using pine log uprights and cross members held together with an ingenious bracket system & woven shade cloth. The result is a neat, quickly constructed, strong and relatively cheap house.
The existing cold glass house is undergoing an upgrade to better suit our masdevallias, Draculas, sarcochilus and odd mixed genera. This should benefit the plants during, what we can expect to be, longer and hotter summers. Thankfully we have 100,000 litres of rain water at winter’s end.
We intend to rebuild the old shade house. In its place will be a warm house; a cool house; a covered area for growing Australian native cymbidiums and flowering special orchids and an extended shaded area.
The laboratory flask area will eventually be extended.
At the moment we have ready, flasks of specially selected Cymbidium clones for Cut Flower, Pot Plant and Exhibition plant production plus a range of selected, quality, spectacular, pendulous cymbidiums. There is also a range of Australian dendrobium species and hybrids bred from top quality, showy, productive exhibition specimen plants and a similar range of Sarcochilus hybrids and species. All flasks for sale contain plants that are generally far larger and more robust than our competitors can produce.
We can also supply quality plants of Disa and Dendrobium kingianum and Dendrobium speciosum.
We intend to expand our supply of plants to include more Australian native cymbidiums and hybrids and cascading miniature & intermediate cymbidiums.
Mother flasks of Phragmipedium kovachii ‘ Tupac Amaru ‘ x ‘Goliath’ are growing well and we will soon do final replates from them. TOP
